Researchers from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center analyzed a recurring genetic “hotspot” called TP53 and found that the mutated protein is not only advantageous to cancer growth but can also make a cell more noticeable to the immune system, leaving it open to attack. bit.ly/3wBkEMf
Could vaccines treat cancer? Vinod BalachandranMD explained to CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta how he's teamed up with BioNTech SE to use mRNA technology to try to outsmart pancreatic cancer. Click below to watch. cnn.com/videos/health/…
Happy to see our work is out! Here we studied the presence of subpeptidomes in different HLA molecules of the B7 supertype. It was a pleasure working with Iñaki Alvarez and Adrián Tirado from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona doi.org/10.1016/j.cell…
Vaccines and cancer are in the news. On the latest episode of the Cancer Straight Talk Podcast from MSK, Drs. Vinod Balachandran (@thevinodlab) and Dmitriy Zamarin MD PhD speak with Dr. Diane Reidy-Lagunes about their research into cancer vaccines. Listen here: bit.ly/3McX8Nk
Happy and honored to have helped in such a beautiful work from @itsalyourpal and Samuel Bakhoum! Congrats 👏
Proud and happy to be featured as a #MSKPostdoc. Working in an institution such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is amazing. A special thanks to Melody Di Bona for the continuous and unconditional support
Ready and excited to network in Boston at the American Society for Cell Biology and EMBO annual meeting! I will be presenting our brand new story from the Samuel Bakhoum lab on micronuclear rupture- to know more, drop by room 210B, 5.30 PM, Mon 4. 👀 Happy to chat over dinner/lunch and coffees 🙂☕️
Very interesting review by the talented Melody Di Bona about micronuclei in chromosomally unstable cancers
Everything is ready to start this #SU2CScienceSummit Can't wait to see all the amazing science that will be shared here. With @SU2CScience Charlotte Reiche, MD/PhD Martina Milighetti
Research presented by Vinod BalachandranMD at #AACR24 shows that an investigational approach to treating #pancreaticcancer w/an #mRNA-based vaccine activates immune cells that can persist in the body for up to three years after treatment in certain patients. bit.ly/3JaI7dU
I am excited to present the latest work we are doing in Vinod BalachandranMD next week at #ASGCT2024. Come by Ballroom 2 at 1.30pm on May 8th to hear about Personalized #CancerVaccines in Pancreatic Cancer.
Exciting times for cancer vaccines as mRNA leads the charge! Insights from vaccines against pathogens pave the way for personalized cancer vaccination. Charlotte Reiche, MD/PhD, Zachary Sethna, Vinod BalachandranMD, and myself discuss this and much more in our newly published review in Cancer Cell
