Remember that gifts you've received aren't meant to burden you forever. If the item is no longer useful to you, pass it along or donate. Take a photo of you want the memory without the physical object. #declutter

Although it sounds a bit morbid, having a "death book" listing all yr accounts, how bills get paid, secret treasure" etc & letting yr loved ones know how to find the book is a great gift for a stressful time #organize

If you never fell like looking at your saved memorabilia, you have too much memorabilia! Editing is key. #declutter

Before you close any financial account, be sure to download all statements. Your access will likely be terminated one the account is closed. #organize

Do you have an inventory of your stuff (clothes, jewelry, kitchenware, etc)? Preparing an inventory will help you review what you have. Maybe you'll find items to donate. In any event, you'll know what you own, when you got it, what it cost, etc. #organize #Decluttering

Don't fight your organizing style which may be very different than other people's. Find a system that lets you retrieve the info or items you want quickly and easily. Then annotate in case someone else needs to find something of yours. # organize

If you have a collection or artwork or jewelry, etc., that is valuable, make sure your heirs know this and who they can trust to sell the pieces if so desired.

If you gift someone an object, let them know that they are under no obligation to keep it if it at any time it ceases to give them joy. No clutter pledge! #declutter

Remember to download all statements prior to closing a financial account since you're likely to lose online access immediately upon closure.

Have an up-to-date list of all medications you take. Include your vitamin regimen as well. Never know when you might need it!

If you have a safe deposit box, make sure somebody else knows the bank name, location, where your key is, and if anyone else can access the box. Better to be prepared if you are unable to directly share that info #organize

Keep up to date on downloading your financial statements if you're digital only. If you close the account or the institution is taken over, you might no longer have access to the older statements! #organize

And photograph or scan any that are sentimentaly important to you after which the original can be tossed
