I’ve been outraged by the Post Office scandal for a couple of years now, but I’m also outraged that it takes a TV drama to bring it to the attention of our dozy politicians.

Sad news of the death of Barry John. The greatest fly-half I ever saw. I worked with him when I was producing rugby on the radio and got him onto TMS’ View From The Boundary. He wore his brilliance lightly.

One of the courtesies that make rugby a better game than soccer was the home team changing in a colour clash. Sad that that’s gone.

Reading the obituary of Tony O’Reilly today, I remember Cliff Morgan telling wonderful stories of the great man in his rugby days. His bootlace broke before a match at Twickenham and he had to beg the England team for “some hairy twine fer me boots.”
