Jointly with August Huang August Yue Huang we are looking to hire a postdoc in computational genomics. This position is great for candidates who want to gain expertise in analyzing novel single cell sequencing data to study somatic mosaicism in neurologic disease. Spread the word!
New paper online! In 2018, we found a human brain signal that tracks real time fluctuations in mood/anxiety. Now Adam Jackson back-translates this biomarker to mice, dissects its circuit mechanisms, & tests its causal relationship to emotional state. 🧵1/6 authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S08…
Long non-coding RNAs comprise a large part of the genome, yet loss of one copy (haploinsufficiency) of a lncRNA is not known to cause a human disease. Read our preprint to learn how deletions of the lncRNA CHASERR cause a severe neurodevelopmental disorder.medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
Congratulations to John Rolston , MD, PhD, FAES on his new title-Director of Epilepsy Surgery! We are wishing you continued success in advancing medical excellence and improving lives! 🧠
Today, NEJM published our clinical study of a novel #CARTCell in patients with #Glioblastoma. Early results with CARv3-TEAM-E suggest safety and bioactivity. Special thanks to all collaborators MGH Neurosurgery and Mass General Cancer Center! nej.md/3VnjUIq
Congratulations Javier Ganz, Sara Bizzotto, Joe Luquette on this transformative paper. Somatic mutations in neurons vs oligos have different rates and patterns, which has important implications for healthy brain development and disease.
So excited to present Blake Madruga 's amazing biorxiv paper on the first of our new generation of open-source 2-photon miniaturized microscopes. The scope has excellent resolution and great sensitivity such that we can image dendrites in RSC and image DG through an intact CA1.
My lab in collaboration with Drs Mirzavand @ualberta & Ryait ULethbridge has few open positions in R&D initiatives concerning wireless systems that offer monitoring of behaviour and brain activity in humans and animals. Please retweet! rb.gy/2c3l87
Congratulations Frederic Schaper and Michael Fox on this really cool work!
Fascinating work from Gilad Evrony and lab that brings us one step closer to understanding the mechanisms of double-strand DNA changes by surveying single strand DNA damage in health and disease.
Thrilled to share this preprint on our study of somatic mutations in prion disease! Congrats to Gannon McDonough and Alana Cheng, a wonderful collaboration with August Yue Huang, Jiri Safar, ChrisAWalsh and others! Labor of love >7y in the making, finally out! #prion #genetics
Exciting new work by Janet Song , Taehwan Shin and Ryan Doan in ChrisAWalsh lab on functional contribution of non-coding variation to ASD. Many years in the making but well worth the wait!
