Finished 1st week of University of Minnesota UMN American Studies! Lots of walking as I keep getting lost but I'm slowly finding my way. Thought I'd be far behind, switching fr history to American Studies, but UMass Public History prepared me well! Lots of familiar names & concepts: "what is public history", Foucault, Michael Frisch's "shared authority," etc. Alas, missing my "The New Jim Crow", need a new one. #PhDLife
