live tweet thread of first impressions of reading idw sonic as a fan of the games - gonna get jiggy with it for transparency i read the *very* first few pages a couple of days ago so i'm gonna recap my thoughts on them first

the doted celebrity status because of him defeating baddies gives me 'superhero adored by the public' and sonic is clearly used to the attention and reacts like someone very comfortable with doting attention - that's a first discrepancy between him and game sonic

okay onto this continuing 'join the resistance!' and 'no!' argument amy and sonic are having, THIS exchange raised the BIIIIIIIIGGEST question marks for me like...is sonic going to begrudgingly acknowledge the value of friendship over the course of the comic? as his arc?

oh and amy saying this........ not only a repeat of what i just said with sonic but... amy WOULD NOT say this! i love sonamy as a ship! and i know for a FACT that amy has NEVER, EVER said i love you to sonic. those words mean a LOT to a romantic like her

i notice this sonic is suuuper stoked whenever blaze's fighting abilities are involved - which rings as a little strange to me. i think cus it makes him out to be a bit more fanboyish of her power? and like hey I'M a fan of her power but it's strange to see sonic like that
