Two years ago, Emersons Green Primary School had no money, only had 7 working computers, had no resources (staff used to buy their own desks) and had a building which was in a dreadful state of repair. Now, with funding from Leaf Trust it is the school which the children deserve…

Great gift from an Ex-BH pupil who has just left us: a bear made from her old uniform. We’ve called him ‘Cham’ and he’ll be going home with a different child each week!

At Blackhorse Primary & Emersons Green Primary School we make our mission VERY clear. New banners arrived for both schools today, and went up at EG this evening!

New runners. A bitter-sweet moment as the first pair I’ve bought post injury/ surgery. Used to get through 2 pairs a year, racking up 2000 miles. Probably only managed 200 miles in the last two years. Still, I’m hoping the extra bounce on these will allow more running!

Lovely write up of potential Olympic hopeful and ex-Blackhorse runner in the local press. Nice that the school got a mention too! This makes three current ex-pupils who could go all the way to the top on athletics in the next couple of years. #ChampionLearners

Favourite moment after putting up the new mission banners at Blackhorse Primary today: watching 3 Y1 girls trying to jump ‘like the big girl’ on the playground after school. 🥇

This fine gentleman interviewed me as part of the Blackhorse Primary school council aged 6, 14 years ago! He wrote to me this week having recently got a First from Oxford in Law. That look is the very definition of a Blackhorse Champion Learner. #Alumni

Just the one purchase at today’s record fair. Addict’s 1998 LP Stones. Saw them I few times yet I seem to be the only person who had ever heard of them. Still, paid £12 and currently going for £54 on discgogs.

Although I wasn’t particularly a REM fan at the time, ‘Green’ became the soundtrack to my first few weeks at Uni in 92. Tomorrow the boy heads off on his own adventure.
