There are some things you are not allowed to talk about in politics if you want to keep your job. One of those things is how the establishment closed ranks for five years to bring down Jeremy Corbyn. But, after foolishly miscalculating the ex-Labour leader is no longer a threat,

The very idea that we could have our own, Australian views on this topic: perish the thought! Washington spends more time acting as a protection racket for Israel than it does on its own, terrible internal problems

An alleged assassination attempt by a mentally ill person using a gun is a terrible reason to vote for the man who made it easier for mentally ill persons to get guns.

Running to a special election on a record of doing nothing because you won’t negotiate would be pretty bold stuff. Go for it.

The CEOs of Australia’s big businesses have their black tie dinner tonight where they are planning to attack the PM & the Labor Govt for supporting workers getting pay rises. The irony of them dining in grand ballrooms & denouncing payrises for working Australians is not lost.

For there to be a DD election, the dissolution of the House and full Senate must take place by 25 January. The election would be in March. How you can meet the 3 months delay requirement of Section 57 to get a DD trigger between now and January is beyond me. #auspol

I don’t think either the Greens or the Coalition are going to be influenced much by a double dissolution bluff from Anthony Albanese. Bring it on, I think they’ll say. #auspol theguardian.com/australia-news…

I can’t understand why she and her fellow clowns object to this. Apparently they think that “country “ refers to the whole country and not traditional lands.

This is the US urging Australia to ignore international law, continue pumping weapons to Israel and ignore the occupation of Palestine. This is an outrageous infringement on our independence.

Here goes the most ordinary and disappointing PMs we have ever seen. A man so ordinary, of a party so disappointing, he thought that appeasing the Coalition while cursing the minor parties would somehow mask the fact that his housing policy is just a neoliberal scam with the

The answer to this crisis will *not* be through incremental change, but through radical change. Our politicians know this. They just won’t legislate against their own interests

Yes it looks like Anthony Albanese is picking a fight with Australian Greens over housing so it can call an early election. Maybe December 7th? ALP needs a political circuit breaker, not necessarily a double dissolution as the Greens are chipping away at metropolitan support. + our economy will be

An interesting point about double dissolutions. The power to grant a double dissolution is the only power of the Governor-General that cannot be exercised by the King. It is not a power inherited from the crown but one invented by the Constitution and so for the GG alone.

Richard Marles staff told me he is not in Geelong, but other pollies tell me he is here? I've set up 100 meters from his office telling people not to vote for him and why. Don't enlist unless it's fixed. Marles must start looking after those who serve the Australian way. 💙💔

Devastating video of a coral reef graveyard - despite the upbeat narrative - showing dead Dendrogyra pillar coral and beds of branching staghorn rubble. These students were born 30 years too late to experience a healthy Caribbean reef.
