Lambourn, walking home, 7 pm, dog in tow, past house, garage, doors open, heard noise, looked in, “brilliant, cooked too much food, in you come” 90 mins of food, conversation, laughter, memories, looking forward, stuff, family. Possibly one of the great nights, community is gold

Howard Wright, the total master of his craft, and as straight as a spirit level. Saw him in Hong Kong last winter, a golden hour “always make a contact a day Michael” as he went off to make another contact. And never forgot his roots, and his training. Taught me so much too RIP

Life is about stories, and how you tell them, and this will always be some story. And…another 10 years flies by since a wonderful day ⁦Cartmel Racecourse⁩ which retains its natural beauty too. I think they’ll be telling this story for a while yet, I hope so anyway

What a life, lived to the full, probably to full for some And as I was once told “there is such a thing as a good death” and after a good life, I hope, despite the horrid illness, it was a peaceful death. Some life #sven

Over thinking is overrated, see below. And I hope in the evolution of sport, it doesn’t become prevalent, as the more “professional” it becomes, the more you could encourage it, among players, coaches et al. The trouble is, they won’t know they’re doing it. God bless simplicity

It can nearly be taken for granted in what was historically a male dominated sport, but at 27, it’s a sensational achievement, and one racing should shout from the rooftops about. Hollie Doyle is a sporting phenomenon, as are many other women in raving, it’s now a very long list
