Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to this, it has actually been incredibly helpful, especially those of you who went from a Qashqai to an EV. I can summarise the feedback as: "Just shut up talking and get an e-Niro".

Later this week I will officially become an EV driver. Does anyone know when the welcome ceremony typically happens after delivery? I assume it involves trumpets, a marching band of sorts, maybe a poem read by Greg Jackson? I'll have to notify the neighbours.

I realise gas prices jumped yesterday (the quite mad geopolitical stuff in Lebanon kicking into trading algos?) but as an update to my below tweet, Norwegian maintenance definitely receding on schedule. Markets soon to be in 'where the hell are we going to put this gas' mode.

So coming back to the EV community with a question - turns out our plastic electricity meter cabinet is damaged and the EV charger can't be installed until fixed. I've just had an insane quote to replace it. Does anyone have any experience of what would be expected?

Great article. Love the phrase of considering capital as the "fuel" in renewables development and viability. heatmap.news/economy/federa…

Energy Flux here doing a good job of telling you that it's not just renewables that recover curtailment costs. x.com/EnergyFluxNews…

Who wants to tell me what the hell happened to gas prices at around 1pm, because I don't have a clue. 10% price drop in about 15 minutes.

Mystery solved, thank you (it really wasn't a mystery, I've been in meetings). Now we know the shutting down of the Sudzha corridor (barely a fraction of EU gas supply) was apparently why prices had to be ~15% higher than otherwise. EU gas markets are mental.
