Delighted to see that The Daily Mail has had the good sense to quote me regarding the government’s sensible idea to disperse sewage in coastal waters in a safe manner whilst beaches are empty. The Daily Mail continues to be an example of rigorous & well researched journalism.👍

Fox News anchor: 'Karl Marx wrote Mein Kampf'. 40% of Americans believe in creationism, & just 22% believe humans evolved without God's guidance. No wonder Trump is popular, billionaires laugh at us, climate & vaccine scepticism is widespread, & for many, facts are subjective.😬

“Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink.” 🌍 The levels of #drought around the globe are staggering. When water does come, it’s in destructive deluges & #floods. The #climate is reaching a point where the stability needed for modern agriculture is slipping away.

In the quest to transform food systems in ways that serve both people and nature, agroecology is gaining prominence as a means of generating solutions. It is a farming and food system approach that’s inspired by natural ecosystems, combines local and scientific knowledge, and

All pesticides are by definition harmful to something. In lieu of the full transition from chemical to ecological agriculture I would settle for the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework target to cut pesticide risks by 50 per cent by 2030 - a goal negotiated in UN.

The emissions from these fires are massive. The Amazon is being transformed from a carbon sink into a carbon source. 🌍🔥 What was once a vital part of Earth's lungs is now contributing to the very crisis it used to help mitigate. #ClimateCrisis #AmazonFires #CarbonEmissions

Dunnock nest in the garden has successfully fledged, & it’s September tomorrow. Fledging takes about 12 days & incubation 13, so egg laying would have been during early August. Very unusual.

Thanks. A reminder that the big issue about pesticides is not so much the quantity in use, but their toxicity. Deltamethrine more than TEN THOUSAND times more potent than the DDT that did so much ecological harm decades ago!
