People move around and nobody is trying to say “stop coming to London” but working class people in capital cities that attract so many people daily aren’t moving because they want to but because they’re being priced out of their communities. COMMUNITIES. It’s not just a house.

The socialist historian C. L. R. James was born on this day in 1901. His landmark text, The Black Jacobins, is a majestic account of the Haitian Revolution and is still the authoritative history of a heroic struggle for freedom and dignity.

This is hugely dangerous. It means select ideologies can now claim protection from criticism. It's also telling that this is not an ideology that can defend itself without a heavy interfering hand preventing criticism.
