i think many occurrences of the mandela effect (Berenstain bears, Febreze) are instances where people learned a word at an age where they were not strong spellers, never internalized the spelling and later they retroactively apply the spelling to it that they think it should have

according to icelandic law, all first names must be able to take a genitive case ending or they must "have been adopted through custom in the Icelandic language", although i'm not sure what that means. i guess this is because you have to be able to form a patronymic/matronymic?
