This week, I spoke about the dreadful riots in Wath over the summer and the true spirit of South Yorkshire we saw in the aftermath. I was grateful to Yvette Cooper for her support.
Happy to have made the Private Members’ Bill ballot. Subject to procedure and those ahead of me, I’ve made it clear that my first preference for a bill would be to reform our archaic assisted dying laws, working with Dignity in Dying and others. The time has come.
