The Intuitive Logics (IL) method – also known as the ‘2x2’ or ‘4-quadrant’ approach – is one of the most popular approaches to scenario planning. In short, IL derives 4 scenarios from 2 critical uncertainties by placing each uncertainty on an axis of a quadrant diagram. A🧵1/

Great to see brilliant Are Børjesson present our work in the City of Bergen (Bergen kommune) on smart mobility strategies at the Urban Transitions Mission Summit today! Digital regulation of mobility works. #sustainability #climate #cities

Revisited Peter Schwartz's book in preparation to my today lecture on #ScenarioPlanning. Came across the concept of #reperceiving - 'to be able to question assumptions about the way the world works'👇

"In social science, the real laboratories are territories, people and initiatives": Massimo De Marchi makes a strong case for long-term research at the Università di Padova PhD Winter School on Vulnerability. Great to be able to join the discussions virtually from Bergen!

The mitigation levels reported by the IPCC, & used by countries to support their emission pledges, assume that large-scale CDR will be deployed. The mere existence of CDR delays emission reductions, compared to a case where CDR is limited in scale. nature.com/articles/s4301…

We know that every scenario process includes some future conditions and values and excludes others 📈But how are these boundaries generated? And can we enrich them with the transformative conditions of the 21st century? Read our new paper in One Earth!🌿doi.org/10.1016/j.onee… 1/

Climate policy isn't all that bad. Depending on how you model the economy, climate policy can lead to benefits in terms of GDP & employment. How can the IPCC be more inclusive of different modelling approaches & model diverse policy packages? nature.com/articles/s4416…

Probably the most beautiful book I have ever had the pleasure of contributing to. On top of that, it deals with the highly relevant topic of changing seasonality in times of polycrisis. Many thanks, Scott Bremer and Arjan Wardekker😊 Senter for vitenskapsteori

Warm congratulations to my brilliant and generous friend Siddharth Sareen (here at the UNHQ to present policy briefs on renewable energy) to the Nils Klim prize. This is so well deserved. Sid is also an excellent guide to the best basement jazz clubs across the world.
