#Onthisday (9/7/1864) McClellan accepted the Democratic Party nomination for the Presidency. He declared that compromise was the spirit of America & that would lead to reconciliation. He also declared the war was to preserve the union. #history #ushistory

A MO church thinks it is cute by purchasing an “equality” billboard next to the Confederate Battle Flag. The joke is on them. Our flag isn’t for or against equality. I am not offended by their message; I am offended when my people are denied our message! amp.kansascity.com/news/local/art…

#Onthisday (9/8/1862) Lee wrote that the sole object of the war was Southern Independence. This is more evidence that Lee had one goal. “Preservation of slavery” was not a war aim. Faux historians lie. #history #ushistory

The Confederates are correct on this point: their flag isn't for or against equality. Equality is a value and being for or against it, or any value, falls to your own conscience. No one can force others to be for or against any value. Freedom of conscience, thought, and belief.

"Symbolic of the Negro's position in the antebellum North was the public cemetery, or potter's field, of Cincinnati: whites were buried east to west and Negroes north to south. After all, white supremacy had to be preserved, even among the dead." -Prof Litwack #history

"By 1860, the North had clearly defined its position on racial relations: white supremacy and social peace required a vigorous separation of blacks and whites and the concentration of political and judicial power in the hands of the superior race -the Caucasian." -Prof Litwack

In 1907 Charles F. Adams, the Union Vet, Pres of the AHA & Mass Historical Assoc. explained why he spoke so positively about Lee. You'll see it had nothing to do with the "lost cause mythology." This explanation shows he was not influenced by the UDC. leefamilyarchive.org/history-refere…
