Actually I was reading the book "A Poison Like No Other: How Microplastics Corrupted Our Planet and Our Bodies" just last week. I didn't realize the extent to which plastics have come to permeate and mess with our entire environment. It's not just about the polymer granules of

Automated Design of Agentic Systems (ADAS) might be one of those ideas that seems obvious in retrospect. Of course, we should use AI to design AI agents. The key idea is that an agent designs the architecture of other agents. What's really interesting is that the entire agent

the authors got this working with gpt3.5. You'll be shocked to hear that L3.1 405B does much better than even i anticipated. if you add in some tree search, things get very very interesting ...

was gonna share my notes on the ADAS paper but xjdr beat me to it and much more succinctly here are more findings: if you take a look at the outputs of the meta agent that the authors share, you’ll see the agent is mainly just remixing variants of this pattern: try 3-5

Great summary of recent open-endedness work, with mentions of OMNI-EPIC, Intelligent Go-Explore, Genie, & The AI-Scientist, alongside other great OE work in the field. Awesome to see open-endedness discussed by VCs as a next big wave in AI! 🚀🔥❤️‍🔥📈 press.airstreet.com/p/open-endedne…

spicy take: LM agents for automated safety research in the rough shape of sakana.ai/ai-scientist/ will be the ultimate meta-approach to neglected safety approaches (lesswrong.com/posts/qAdDzcBu…); see appendix 'C. Progression of Generated Ideas' from arxiv.org/abs/2408.06292 for an

The AI Scientist in Nature News! Great quotes from Cong Lu eg "This is the GPT-1 of AI science" & "People will say, I have 100 ideas that I don’t have time for. Get the AI Scientist to do those". Thanks Davide Castelvecchi for a great article! nature.com/articles/d4158…

“We really believe this is the GPT-1 of AI science” As Cong Lu said, many parts of our job is not the “creative part, but it’s 90% of what we do. People will say, I have 100 ideas that I don’t have time for. Get the AI Scientist to do those.” Thanks Davide Castelvecchi for writing!
