Half the aviation world seemed to be out & about at N.Weald today. First a Vampire screaming it’s little head off 🙉, then a pair of Strikemasters followed by (probably) a Blenheim and finally a grand old 81yr old lady which I’m told is a Stinson Reliant (stock picture).

We went for a walk beside the Old River Lea this afternoon. Some very kind swans left me some cushioning for posing - much more comfortable than bare mud, and I did a bit of work experience as a Toll Keeper.

At Scarinish met David the archaeologist excavating an early Mediaeval building (sorry Prof Cat Jarman FSA💀, not Viking) with cavity wall insulation.

Gave a lift to a bee surveyor from the RSPB (they do birds AND bees),here for a fortnight looking at Great Yellow Bumblebees, a speciality of the island, for they adore machair grassland. Wildlife here seems so much less in retreat than at home.

A decent walk at #NazeingCommon this afternoon. Mum kept peering into the distance but it was too hazy to see the Wembley Arch today. It always amazes her that it can be seen from there - just proves how close we are to The Metropolis but it’s like a different world.

The weather was hedging its bets this morning at around 10am after storms during the night and at around 8am. I slept on a blanket beside Mum’s bed for most of the night.

Mum was going through her phone photos & found a rare historical photo of Kizzy in her days as head of the Twoofers escape committee. She never barked about it to me though. #UnsungHero

Anyone know what “a decorator” is? There’s one making strange noises in my hallway - should I be worried? Mum says they only eat chocolate bars & crisps so I’m just being silly 🤔
