The Art Weiss group UC San Francisco show immature T-cells express highly sensitive components: IP3R2 STIM2 & NIR3. Mature T-cells swap these for IP3R3, STIM1 & NIR2. nature.com/articles/s4159… NIR3 supports low level PIP2 hydrolysis by exchanging PI for PA at levels lower than seen by NIR2.
