As Coach Ryan Dupic put it, the growth of Alec Blakestad over four years is "what collegiate athletics are all about." At one point, Blakestad had nearly given up on the idea of playing college ball. With Bulldog Baseball, Blakestad became a star. ⚾ FEATURE ➡️
A tremendously fun player to watch compete. Alec Blakestad broke his hand JR year, still played and got two knocks. He then proceeded to break his foot on a bunt single (still ran to third on error and scored). 30 pumps SO-SR year after not homering in first 19 years of life.
Will never forget throwing Alec Blakestad BP when he hit a homer for the 1st time. The “I can do this” moment in real time. We all knew what he was capable of. So happy he realized it too. The Blakestad family means a great deal to me. Filled with joy reading this.
