In Transport committee I raised the concerns from the Chinese community. AT are working with Police but were both firm that racial abuse and attacks are not tolerated, there is cctv, panic button on the bus along with drivers being trained in de-escalation and to ring 111

“I don’t support prioritising economic growth over peoples lives. And it seems like the Government is quite happy to put the lives of children at risk to get people to where they are going faster. It’s just shocking. […] Cr Josephine Bartley

Our local food bank was robbed so if you can spare some extra shopping the Glen Innes Foodbank would appreciate it please. Pak n Save Glen Innes has sale on multi buys which Milo and I took advantage of.

Watching too many movies, whoever did this thought they could break in to vape shop by going through next door. Then the shooting outside vape shop in Mt Wellington.

Bartley raised concerns around the number of recent gun crimes in Auckland. “We are experiencing so many shootings,” she said. “How come these people have got guns, and they’re just out there shooting people?” nzherald.co.nz/nz/mt-wellingt…

Lent my voice on behalf of our communities in Auckland who have had enough of gun violence in our neighbourhoods and do not want to see the rules on semi automatic weapons weakened which could mean the make it into the wrong hands and onto the streets

Ultimately what you’ve got as a councillor is your vote. Voted no re RLTP - I didn’t leave my dying mother’s hospital bed in June 2019 to vote for a climate emergency to now vote for a transport plan which is not a transport plan for a city that has declared a climate emergency.

Marae were a great support to all in communities during major emergencies in our communities. Good to see our local Ruapotaka marae receive funding.

That’s a no from us to further privatisation of the management of pools and leisure centres. The voices were strong to keep the management in house for those that are already outsourced like in Maungakiekie Tamaki the win will be stronger contract management by council

Our communities tell us there are too many liquor stores, in Glen Innes at least seven off licences in a two km radius. This policy means a two year freeze on any new liquor stores given the proliferation of neighbourhood liquor stores and the high rates of alcohol related harm.

How inhumane to lace lollies with drugs donated to city mission for food parcels knowing that kids will eat them. If you know anything please report to Police

Great to see this explanation of the climate action targeted rate and what it’s funding when you are planning your bus route travel.

Talking to liquor store owners last night who said to me it’s too late with this local alcohol policy freeze anyways because there’s already a lot of shops. Even they know we have too many liquor stores in the community.

Beverage industry rep saying we’re drinking differently now, figures are saying we consuming less or something. Yes we are drinking differently we’re drinking in parks and in public like it’s normal to buy box of Cody’s with bread and go sit in park and drink.

We have had two major criminal activities in our community yesterday, the Mt Wellington and Onehunga homicides. I know people will be worried for their safety, are these random or isolated. I have been in contact with Police this morning and they have issued these statements.

Māori and Pacific children are 14 times more likely to experience alcohol marketing on way to school. I look at what I walked past to go to school and think why should that be different for kids today so I’m glad to see this focus on neighbourhood centres.
