Those looking for drought-busting rain from #Francine in the #Cincinnati area will likely be disappointed. The latest models are less optimistic on any significant rainfall for the majority of our area. If you are in the far southwest you probably have the best chance. Local 12/WKRC-TV

Today happens to be the climatological peak of hurricane season. It should be all downhill from here. But I have a feeling it will be different this year. The National Weather Desk Local 12/WKRC-TV

HITTING A WALL OF DRY AIR: 2 models and both keep any significant rainfall with the remnants of Francine to the southwest of #Cincinnati. One does give our far southwestern counties some decent amounts though. Unfortunately, both give our hardest hit drought-stricken areas none.

Tonight this is our most optimistic model in terms of rainfall with the remnants of #Francine in the #Cincinnati area and it's not very optimistic at all. Let's hope something changes. We desperately need some soaking rains. Local 12/WKRC-TV

We will see some showers start to come closer to the #Cincinnati area on Friday as the remnants of #Francine move north. Areas southwest of downtown have the highest chance of seeing measurable rain while areas northeast of downtown are likely to remain dry. Local 12/WKRC-TV

Limit your outdoor time across the #Cincinnati metro area on Wednesday if you are sensitive too poor air quality. Ground-level ozone levels are expected to be elevated. An Air Quality Alert is in effect through the day and into the evening. Local 12/WKRC-TV

BAD NEWS FOR DRY LAWNS AND GARDENS: As the remnant low from Hurricane #Francine remains well back to the west of #Cincinnati, so will the heaviest of rainfall. Although parts of the area may see a little bit Friday and Saturday it looks like many of us won't see any rain at all.

It's Hurricane #Francine vs. the DRY AIR. And it looks like the dry air will win out over most of the #Cincinnati area. The exception is areas well southwest of town which have the best chances of seeing any decent rainfall Friday and Saturday. Local 12/WKRC-TV

We see an amazingly sharp cutoff to Hurricane #Francine rains right smack dab over the #Cincinnati area Friday and Saturday with some in the far southwest getting a good soaking and many to the north and east not seeing a single drop. Local 12/WKRC-TV

MAKING WEEKEND PLANS? Most of us will be dry. The best chance for showers comes on Friday, especially southwest of #Cincinnati. Some spotty showers could linger Saturday, again mainly southwest of town. Sunday looks dry. Local 12/WKRC-TV

It's a dire situation in Highland County now with "Exceptional" Drought - the highest and worst level - now reported in the far eastern part of the county. Elsewhere Extreme and Severe Drought has expanded with much of #Cincinnati metro now in a Moderate Drought. Local 12/WKRC-TV

FRANCINE'S CLOUDS - Mike in West Chester, Ohio snapped this awesome pic of a 22 Degree Halo overhead today. This "ring around the sun" is created when the ice crystals in the clouds refract sunlight. These cirrus clouds are actually coming from the remnants of Hurricane Francine.

Hoping for some rain? Areas southwest of #Cincinnati have the best chances of getting clipped by some Friday and Friday night. But most of us won't see a drop. 😞 Local 12/WKRC-TV
