Russia just bombed #Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital. The day before the #NATO summit kicks off. Because they can, because it amuses them, they laugh knowing the “escalation managers” are too scared to stop them. A hospital full of children.

Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. One of the most important CHILDREN’S hospitals not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe. Okhmatdyt has been saving and restoring the health of thousands of children. Now that the hospital has been damaged by a Russian strike, there are

Attacking innocent children. The most depraved of actions. We stand with Ukraine against Russian aggression - our support won’t falter.

Shocking images as Russian missiles hit Okhmatdyt Hospital, #Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital. It's a reminder of why we must support Ukraine and why outright Russian war criminals must be held to account.

There are no limits to the atrocities of the Russian Federation. Today massive missile attacks on multiple cities, including Kyiv. Dozens killed and wounded. A children’s hospital destroyed.  Finland strongly condemns these deliberate attacks on civilian targets. Russia will

Putin has his answer. Joe Biden says keep going: Russia can keep bombing #Ukraine from Russian territory with impunity. The White House still refuses to let Ukraine strike those launch sites with US military aid.

Why is Kwasi Kwarteng now being given the airtime to rehabilitate his career as some kind of political know it all? His incompetence is only matched by his arrogance #Newsnight

If you think that after 14 years the culture and practices of government offices such as the DWP or the Home Office can be changed quickly - you’re in for a big disappointment

A lot of scholars are seemingly hellbent on damaging their reputations with ruinous advice on Ukraine and Russia. The past week alone has seen three open letters from this sorry genre, all of which, if carried out, would put real people’s lives in danger. Let’s take a look.🧵

After years of crisis and chaos under the Conservative Party, it is clear our country faces enormous challenges. We will continue campaigning to fix the NHS, boosting GP numbers, tackling delays to cancer treatment and improving access to dentists and pharmacists.

📰 There are good reasons to reverse the two-child limit The benefit cap has been pretty much laser-focused on increasing the measured rate of child poverty. Paul Johnson in The Times and The Sunday Times today thetimes.com/business-money…

Just a thought as we moan about our summer weather - pretty much everyone else in the world is very envious of us! Cool but not frozen, rain but not flooding, breezy but not typhoons. Careful what you wish for

Unpleasant idiots saying vile things end up in prison - problematic in that sentencing has become unpredictable and subject to ministerial influence. Inevitably with boundaries becoming unknowable everyone is now self censoring. Quite chilling really

Pretty sure that substantial prison sentences for a bad tweet are alienating a great deal of moderate opinion and are enormously counter-productive to any attempts to improve community relations and respect for law and order.
