From Tuesday-Friday Steamboat was not only the home of 95 olympians but also 4 senior faculty who were awestruck by the superb chalk-talks of 14 talented young investigators #OrgSynYIW. It was a privilege to attend/organize. Thanks to Organic Syntheses Organic Syntheses for sponsoring!

Being either the first or last lecturer at a conference can be a daunting task, but not for Jim Frederich @floridastate and Alison Narayan Narayan Lab @ UMich University of Michigan. Thanks for starting and finishing a great workshop. #OrgSynYIW Organic Syntheses.

It was during Hosea Nelson’s Nelson Group UCLA Chem & Biochem lecture at the #OrgSynYIW that I noticed someone had eaten all of the Kit Kats out of my candy pile. I don’t know if there is a correlation between Kit Kats and enthusiastic lectures, but I am looking forward to experimenting.

Jill and I recently were in Boston visiting our oldest son Cory. I e-mailed past W6 members in the area to see if they were interested in getting together. The yield was quantitative..what a privilege it has been to work with such an awesome group! Baylor Chemistry Baylor University
