I'm a grown man in my mid 30s - it shouldn't mean so much but watching your childhood come to life infront of your eyes was a privilege I can't quite describe and I'm unsure how it parrallells to experiences for other generations.

Club Statement: FA Cup

All of us at #FarnboroughFC are horrified and condemn the decision of the The FA and the @PremierLeague today.

📝 #asfc are bitterly disappointed and wholeheartedly disapprove of the decision taken by The The FA and the Premier League to change the format of the Emirates FA Cup and scrap replays from next season.

Is there anyone - apart from the FA - who think getting rid of replays from the first round of the FA cup onwards is a good idea? The premier league don’t own that competition. That’s the entire point of it!!!!

I think you'll find that this doesn't split opinions. It seems to have united every fan who actually attends games in England outside of an entitled few.

The day the 'big 6' didn't jog off to form a 'super league' was in fact a dark day just not how we expected with hindsight.

RIP Replays. Another part of the game's great heritage sacrificed for the elite. A famous chapter of the #FACup scrapbook consigned to the scrapyard. Sad but inevitable. #UCL expanding and the show-me-the-money top clubs don't value the Cup as much, though many of their fans do.

Tranmere Rovers stick it to the FA & PL for lack of involvement & consultation of EFL, National League clubs and fans in relation to scrapping of FA Cup replays.

Horrible decision. Revenue from replays could make a clubs season.
But that doesn't matter as an elite player won't have to play one or two extra games a season (which they probably wouldn't be involved in anyway).
