Excited to share our latest work Turner Lab 🚨 Pace of development is often adjusted to gestation time ⏱️So how does the extremely short gestation of marsupials affects their embryo development ? 🐨🦘#DevBio biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

New preprint from the lab! Different animal species develop at different speeds. Metabolism is shown to modulate developmental tempo. Then is metabolism a global modulator that controls all key molecular processes simultaneously? The answer was No. 1/ doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…

Metabolism is known to affect developmental tempo. In this preprint, we explore the role of different metabolic inhibitors on the segmentation clock biochemical parameters. Overall, we found that metabolism does not act as a global modulator of tempo.

Biochemical reactions related to the HES7 gene are slower in the human segmentation clock compared to that of mouse. But what happens to the other genes? In this preprint, we find a general trend for slower protein degradation in human PSM cells.

Great work showing a systematic slower rate of protein degradation in human neuronal progenitors compared to mouse. Congrats to the authors!

Ever wondered how stem cells ensure a balance between cell fates in the gut?⚖️Turns out, they’ve got rhythm!🎶Our latest research reveals that NOTCH-driven oscillations regulate stem/progenitor cell abundance and specify secretory subtypes. Check it out: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
