This teeny flower belonging to one of 13 of our insectivorous plants - Lesser Bladderwort - is the first of its kind at this Lancashire Wildlife Trust reserve in >150 years!!! Not only is this beautiful beastie flowering, it’s also spread into nearby ditches since its reintroduction! 😍🌱

White beak-sedge (Rhynchospora alba) is about to go extinct in Staffordshire 3 years ago, we worked with StaffsWildlife 🦔🍄🦇 to rescue a some plants. Since then, we’ve used this Lancashire Wildlife Trust reserve as a reintroduction site, and as a safe place to safeguard this beaut beastie 😍🌱

OH MY GOD…. Finding a globally rare orchid was not what I was expecting to see in this wee nomow area in Liverpool… Dune helleborine (Epipactis dunensis) is an orchid endemic to Britain and, even here, can be found at fewer than 100 places. WOW 😍😍🌱

I’m talking to LBC News in about 15 minutes and BBC Radio 4 at about 2230 tonight about the Ghost Orchid (Epipogium aphyllum) that I found growing here in the UK earlier this month #wildflowerhour

Three years on and I’ve a garden that’s so buzzing with bees, humming with grasshoppers and crickets and coloured with butterflies. Shame summer is almost over! 🥰🌱

It’s always sad for the inverts cutting a meadow after summer so I always try to leave decent amounts of longer grass for them to hide out in over winter. Here’s to another year of biodiversity wins in the garden! 😍🌱

Known from <15 places in England, Im sooo excited to have found this Bladderwort (Utricularia stygia) at a site in Cumbria! It’s one of 12 carnivorous plants native to Britain, and a special chappie indeed! 😍😍🌱
