Had a great time at the Dunster Show, discussing key issues like access to healthcare in Minehead, farming, food security, and job creation in West Somerset. Grateful for everyone who shared their concerns and solutions!

Most rural homes were built before modern insulation standards, making them harder and more expensive to heat. The removal of the Winter Fuel Payment will hit these homes hard. Let me know your thoughts by responding to the survey. james-wright.org.uk/news/impact-re…

Had a great time at the Exford Show! Lots of talk about Labour’s removal of the Winter Fuel Allowance, especially for pensioners whose homes in the National Park lack modern insulation. Finished the day with the duck race—our ducks didn’t even make it to the finish line! 🦆

With his campaign experience combating Labour and the Liberal Democrats, his listening skills, and genuine care for members and candidates John will be a great asset to the voluntary party on the party board. If you have a vote, please use it to support him.

End of the breeding season today, 12 weeks together and Wilfred’s finished till next year. Left him with Wendy for some company. How many are in calf? We’ll find out end of September! 🤞

The Liberal Democrats pledged to double the Winter Fuel Payment, yet remain silent about Labour plan to cut it for thousands. Where’s Rachel Gilmour, MP for Tiverton & Minehead comment? Rural communities like Tiverton & Minehead will be hit hardest. A shocking dereliction of duty.

Thank you James Wright (James Wright) for your endorsement of my campaign. Coming from an energetic campaigner, both at local level and on national agricultural issues (via Conservative Rural Forum), this is humbling - especially as I share a farming background!

Over a million pensioners in the South West could lose their Winter Fuel Allowance. Cold is a leading cause of excess deaths, rural homes are often less energy efficient. This loss will disproportionately impact rural pensioners. Let me know if you agree james-wright.org.uk/news/impact-re…

It's early days, but the signals are strong. Labour does not understand the countryside. This £100m cut will mean at least 239,000 fewer hectares of nature-friendly farmland. Should farmers be afraid of the Autumn Statement?

A group of Mums is raising funds for Cutcombe School Pool by walking the Three Peaks. Learning to swim is a lifelong skill and essential for all Exmoor children, so do support if you can! gofundme.com/f/moorland-mum…

Over 23,000 pensioners in Tiverton & Minehead are at risk of losing their Winter Fuel Payment. Labour must reverse its attack on rural pensioners. devonlive.com/news/devon-new…

Autumn feels like it’s rapidly approaching, we’ve got new ewe lambs on the farm and the cows are grazing the silage ground. Love this time of year 🌦️

At the Devon Area AGM, reflecting on Devon Conservative successes like saving the council from bankruptcy when we took over in 2009, supporting rural communities and improving our roads. It’s been great to discuss the future with leaders & activists from across the county!

Today on #BackBritishFarming day, we celebrate the hundreds of thousands who work tirelessly to feed the nation and care for our countryside. Labour’s secret plans to slash funding for farmers threaten our food security and environmental stewardship. We must not let this happen.

I’m the first farmer in my family in 100 years. Whether you’ve farmed for generations or starting out, we all have a role to play. Without profitable farms, there is no food security—and without food security, there is no national security. That’s why I’m #BackingBritishFarming.

Kate has spent years building an evidence base for reforming the tenanted sector. Steve Reed MP is an urban MP who doesn't understand the countryside; he needs rural champions like Kate to advise him. It's important her replacement is chosen for their expertise, not politics.
