Great fun once again doing Old & New music with Hugo Rifkind on Times Radio, talking about Nine Inch Nails and the brilliant new single from Hallucinogenic Honey. Listen back from 2.50: thetimes.co.uk/radio/show/202… (And stay tuned at the end for more on *those pheasants*)

The perfect gift for Dad this Father's Day? Sex, drugs and rock n' roll! 🎸 Plus the knowledge that he was probably right not to join that band after all. 'A refreshingly insightful, entertaining and, at times, poignant read' ― List Buy now from link in bio 👆 Little, Brown UK

This was such great fun - and a great opportunity to show off the wallpaper in my garage. Goes well with the classic rock chat I think? Thanks for having me on Sam!

One of the big chapters in The Rejects is on Sugababes and the musical talent that went into them. Great to see where that and a lot of tenacity can lead.

Finally found the box of some of my most treasured books and got them safely back to LA (they've crossed the Atlantic at least twice.) Feels like a snapshot from life in 2010, mainly as two were signed then. Alan Warner called the doodle 'one of my madonnas.'

In my ripe, old(ish) age I'm appearing at a festival this summer, rather than accompanying a musician to one. Excited to discuss The Rejects with Hannah Knowles (best profile header ever) on Phlox Books' stage Wilderness on Saturday, Aug 3 at 3.30pm. 👇 wildernessfestival.com/experiences/ta…

RIP Alexander Waugh. I met him very briefly in 2017, attempting to explain the idiosyncrasies of US milk to him as we poured coffee. He was charming and funny, and I was struck by the Evelyn-like eyes. Appropriately for a Waugh, this obit is hilarious. thetimes.com/uk/obituaries/…

Finally got to Challengers and absolutely loved it. A very American pain viewed through a European sensibility. Clever, zippy timeline jumping, great ending and WHAT A SOUNDTRACK

The new Tim Parks novel, Mr Geography, is the best I've read in a while. Reminds me of A Month in the Country - short, compulsive and very moving. Also, I've never read such an exciting use of past/ present scenes - often segueing in the same para, as in a mind. It's just great.

Like every other man and his dog, I've started a Substack. It's called LOW FIDELITY, and will tell stories from the music industry and beyond. The first piece is called The Time I Nearly Got Shot by the NYPD. It's FREE, and you can subscribe below! 👇 jamiecollinson.substack.com
