End-of-summer photoshoot of our team Mayo Clinic: two post-docs, four grad/med students, and five nationalities 🌎 (USA, Korea, China, India, Canada). Our mission? Harnessing computational power to advance #PrecisionMedicine in autoimmunity, dementia, and critical illness. 💻🔬
Recently visited the Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Research Center to talk about computational blood biomarker discovery for #ALZ precision healthcare and medicine.🧠Huge thanks to the stellar Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Research Center team for having me! U Penn president right now is scrambling to promote adjunct professor with Nobel Prize to University Professor. I would love to read the comments on Katalin Kariko's R01 that was never funded.
At #FOGBoston The Festival of Genomics & Biodata hearing about cutting-edge works in the #Genomics biotech industry, big pharma, and academia. About to hit the stage to discuss our lab's research on how the #GutMicrobiome 💩 is a rich source of health and disease #PrecisionMedicine #Biomarkers. 🧬🔍✨
To Seattle for #BMES2023! ✈️ Chairing the Thurs pm ‘Systems analysis of spatial and microbial cell signaling’ session. Expecting an awesome line-up of talks on single-cell gene networks, human microbiome metabolites, cell signaling, and pathobiont drug targets Biomedical Engineering Society
#BMES2023 is now a wrap! Always proud returning to Biomedical Engineering Society, which has been my academic home for the past 15 years. Great to have caught up with GT and UIUC friends, who are doing terrific innovative work in their own fields Ashlee N. Ford Versypt Josh Hutcheson @HellerLab Caliari Lab
#ACR2023 American College of Rheumatology is well under way in San Diego! ☀️ Presenting a talk on our giant cell arteritis proteomics research with #MayoClinicRheumatology colleague and friend KenWarringtonMD at the #Vasculitis session Wed 11/15 11am Room 33A-C. If around, please stop by to say hello 😀👋
Identifying GCA diagnosis and disease activity through proteomics from plasma: diagnosis looks good disease activity looks harder (Much like a lot of things in GCA, really) Exciting work Mayo Clinic KenWarringtonMD Jaeyun Sung, PhD #ACR23 ABST2601 Dr. John Cush
At the ☀️Mayo Clinic FL campus to attend the first annual meeting for CLEAR-AD, an NIH U19 consortium to identify #biomarkers and therapeutic targets for #Alzheimers Disease. Wonderful to have Nilufer Ertekin-Taner, MD, PhD lead us off with this morning’s welcoming remarks.
New paper in BMC Medicine: We report #GutMicrobiome results from a phase I clinical trial on the potential of kefir (a fermented dairy drink rich in probiotics) to improve #GutHealth in critically ill patients in the #IntensiveCareUnit (ICU). #ICUResearch bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
Sharing our latest work with KenWarringtonMD in Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases! We used SomaLogic proteomics to identify blood protein patterns in active and inactive Giant Cell Arteritis. Sights are now set to develop and validate ML-based multiplex biomarker panels for GCA!🚀 ard.bmj.com/content/early/…
Our latest tool, the Gut Microbiome Wellness Index2, is now out in Nature Communications. Fantastic work led by Daniel Chang & vinod gupta! GMWI2 is a disease-agnostic indicator of gut health that quantifies disease likelihood from a gut microbiome sample. nature.com/articles/s4146…
