On this day 56 years ago – August 21, 1968 – Czechoslovaks woke to learn their country had been invaded by Soviet-led troops. Over 100 people were killed in the invasion, which began an occupation lasting more than 20 years and caused tens of thousands to emigrate. #Neverforget
