I don’t need to tell Law Twitter about Niren Tolsi. Always brilliant. Niren doesn’t just write on law. He writes on arts, on social justice. I even read about cricket once because he wrote about it. Now he needs cancer treatment. Let’s support him so he can keep on writing.

Sad to see you descend to this, Funzi.

It wasn’t SERI but the Constitutional Court that said yours and Mashaba’s raids were cruel, degrading, violent and unconstitutional.

Which rule of law were you promoting that breaks the constitution?

The City of Joburg is poorly governed but politicians will blame anyone but themselves.
A street exploded last month. NGOs to blame?
It took 2 hrs for a fire engine to arrive at the today. NGOs also to blame?
I suppose NGOs are also to blame for the housing crisis.

500 problem buildings in Johannesburg's innercity identified during Herman Mashaba's tenure as mayor until 2019.

Then the city & its budget slips through SIX MAYORS. Politicians playing coalitions, flexing egos and ignoring the poor's plight in a decaying urban centre. Sick.

These NGOs literally push the city to provide humane housing and not leave people homeless. Ndifun’ukwazi in particular has been fighting for cities to create formal housing for people who live in shacks. They’re not the problem here

'Inner City Federation's Siya Mahlangu told News24 the property ended up in such a situation because the City of Johannesburg was not taking care of the property while they had control over the property.'

People would not choose to live in these hijacked buildings if they had a better alternative. I’m tired of seeing people blame NGOs and eviction laws when this happened because there’s a lack of affordable housing near city centres
