People say the reason why no one discovered anti-nephrin earlier is because it’s hard to detect. The major reason is though that no one except Helmut Rennke had imagined this as an antibody mediated disease. The rest was logical thinking and rigorous execution.

Crossed state lines for the opportunity to read Schubert Octet with this lovely group of people on a Saturday afternoon in New Haven, CT.

Landed at KEF a couple of hours ago! First time in Iceland. We drove by the active volcano on the way to the hotel. 🌋

Day 1 in Iceland: hiking in Thingvellir, lunch at a tomato greenhouse restaurant, waterfalls, checking into new accommodations with serious “Seaside Hotel” vibes for cocktails and dinner.

Although lack of therapeutic efficacy is reported for lademirsen in Alport Syndrome, kudos to the investigators, Sanofi clinical project team, our PAG partners (e.g. Alport Syndrome Foundation), and especially the study participants & their families for an important study well done.

Day 2 in Iceland: drove along the south coast through a variety of remarkable landscapes. Not shown: free roaming horses and sheep.

Day 3 in Iceland: short hike around Jakulsarlon glacier lagoon - other worldly!

Day 4 in Iceland: puffins tour and a visit to the “Yoda Cave” where some scenes of Rogue One movie were filmed.

Day 5 in Iceland: many waterfalls!
