"Everything you want is on the other side of hard." 🗣️ SOUND ON to hear Monty Williams deliver a powerful message in the Phoenix Suns locker room, with the #NBAFinals tied at 2-2. #ThatsGame Game 5: Saturday, 9 PM ET, ABC

Recruits: It’s not about the buildings, landscape, facilities…those things can’t change how you feel. They can’t help support you when you struggle, develop, or challenge you for more. Things can’t do that, only people can. People will make your college experience, not things.

"A quick and easy tip for building habits that last: Pick a standard time and place to do it. It’s easier to wake up knowing "I exercise at 4pm" than to decide each time when to fit a habit into your day. If it’s already decided, all you need to do is show up." –James Clear

Players can get better by just watching games.. not highlights or mixtapes, but full games - high school, college, pro.. doesn’t matter The more basketball you watch, the more you start to see patterns, footwork, actions, etc Moral of the story: Watch more basketball.

Be curious, not judgmental. If you have hit any adversity this season, a reminder the young people you lead need your guidance now more than ever. Judgmental coaches write players off. Curious coaches ask questions and seek to understand.

One of the most important things I’ve learned in my coaching career is the value of clearly communicating and appreciating role players. It sets apart great programs from good programs. thegameknows.wordpress.com
