More complete response shortly, but overall this is incredible. Nobody can ever say that public education is unable to create high-quality equitable schools at scale—the results of this study put that false and old narrative to rest, forever. CREDO at Stanford NACSA

What I appreciate the most about this piece from Michael Petrilli is a clear focus on student outcomes, and the importance of creating more high-quality schools so kids have a better option to attend. Closure is hard (and not always the right solution) but critical.

This. Among all of the noise, changing this is the work. Thank you The 74 Linda Jacobson and NWEA for continued coverage of necessary work to be done. the74million.org/article/studen…

So many people want you to believe that the charter sector is unregulated, unaccountable and a Wild West of schools and providers. Yet nothing could be further from the truth…

Important piece from Victoria McDougald at Fordham Institute . Strong accountability, including testing, results in stronger support and increased pressure for improvement. fordhaminstitute.org/national/comme…

The 2024 Nation’s Report Card (NAEP, The Nation's Report Card) will be released in early 2025, instead of fall 2024, to allow time for the NCES to study if there are any impacts from changing assessment devices. States and TUDA districts were informed of these changes in April 2023.

Info is key to policy and practice. We cannot prepare all students for their next steps if we don't know about progress. I’ll be paying attention to #NAEP and I encourage you to as well, so we can understand how students are doing and act accordingly. NAEP, The Nation's Report Card NCES

Accountability—when done well—is a catalyst for innovation. And we need both of them in our classrooms now more than ever, as we seek new ways to accelerate student learning. Here’s one example of how accountability and innovation work hand-in-hand. edweek.org/technology/all…
