Thrilled to hear that Mark Polizzotti has won the Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize for KIBOGO, a novel my students LOVED when I taught it both this year and last year. Published in the U.S. by Archipelago Books
It was an honour to celebrate the great M Lynx Qualey, founding spirit of ArabLit & ArabLit Quarterly, whose generosity has been a home for so many of us.

Pausing my hiatus from this place for our very big WordsWithoutBorders announcement coming very soon!
Thrilling news for WordsWithoutBorders!
Big things happening! I'm going to miss Karen M. Phillips so much, and I'm really stoked to work with Lissie Jaquette, who was the first person to give me advice on anything pertaining to translation, way back when I was at The Offing.
Wonderful news, congratulations to Lissie Jaquette and WordsWithoutBorders !
Mazel tov, Lissie Jaquette ! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎉🎉🎉
Reflecting this morning on what it means for a field to grow and deepen to a place where, a decade ago it would have been hard to recruit from our own field for WordsWithoutBorders, but now there's a large handful of expert arts managers in an increasing number of translation orgs.
As much as I'll miss Karen M. Phillips, I'm very much looking forward to welcoming Lissie Jaquette to WordsWithoutBorders!
