This clip gives you an idea of how small these owls are. Denis brings in a wood mouse & then calls to Denise. He will need to provide for himself, Denise and future owlets. Luckily, @stowAero is a wonderful wildlife habitat, full of life.

Little owls eat a wide variety of prey; earth worms, caterpillars, beetles and other invertebrates. They will also catch small mammals, like wood mice. Denis brings food to Denise to demonstrate what a good hunter he is.

Little owls are very affectionate towards each other! Face preening helps establish bonds as these owls mate for life. Denis & Denise also like chatting to each other. Trying hard not to anthropomorphise these 2, but I swear they are smiling at the end!

Lunch break in the garden. Wide-angle to show as much as possible. My garden is not huge… long and narrow… only about 10m wide, but surrounded by mature trees and hedgerow ❀️😁

The best addition to the garden, for wildlife, is a pond! Mine is bursting into life now and in a few months, you’ll hardly be able to see it for all the foliage. No frogs this year though 🐸😳
