New report from The Prosperity Project addresses a fundamental policy question: distribute public childcare money to parents or use public money to build services? What's the evidence, and what's not? bit.ly/3ThrMcU #cdnchildcare

Together with over 80 organizations, we sent an open letter to the Biden-Harris Administration stating our commitment to organize against the harmful Senate Border Bill  (Border Act of 2024). Read the full letter here: unitedwedream.org/wp-content/upl…

Grandparent care - part of friend, family, and neighbor care - is already eligible for child care block grant funds. In fact, states with Democratic leadership lead the way in funding this type of care! Hope Republicans step up on supporting family choice. urban.org/research/publi…

Now would be a great time for VP Harris to come out with a simple, strong, motivating message on child care that doesn't fall back on demoralizing "access to affordable" vagueness. Here's what I'd love to see:

Child care is a thing you have to have, but it's not that expensive, but you have to have it, but trade and the deficit. Got it.👍

ridiculous grandparent assertion aside, you do not need a six-year degree to work at a daycare. degree requirements are not keeping people from working in childcare -- it is that it is challenging, woefully underpaid work that does not get a lot of respect.

It is really dismaying that Harris and her spokespeople now EXCLUSIVELY talk about the child tax credit when asked about child care solutions! What happened to the commitment and passion in her launch speech?

He embodies all the cruelty necessary to keep the paychecks and podcast gigs coming from the most evil billionaires in the country. He calls himself pro-life and pro-family while telling you to accept that your child may die in a school shooting.

When you did past the gender hang-ups there’s nothing here except warmed over occupational licensing reform stuff from the 60s and 70s. These guys say they want to represent working families but they have no interest in how working families actually live. x.com/Leahgreenb/sta…

I feel like this should be a priority for those who want to nationalize things. The government pays private companies to collect money for them and they're bad at it. Yet the IRS exists and has a long track record of accepting payments. x.com/ddayen/status/…

I feel like if I were the spokesperson for a campaign whose opponents clearly have no position on a very popular issue, I would make sure to have a real plan rather than tweet about it for 24 hours and refuse to meaningfully address an issue people want real solutions for.
