Good morning and welcome to #NFL Week 2! We kick things off today by looking back at some classic games from today's matchups. (and with a little luck, we will witness some new classics this afternoon) Here's looking forward to another great Sunday of football! 🏈 #NFLWeek2

HBD to one of my all-time favorites, Dan The Man! #GoFins

In Lawrence Taylor's second regular season career game in Week 2 1981, LT, Harry Carson and the Big Blue Wrecking Crew clamped down on Joe Theismann and #HTTR with a 17-7 win at RFK Stadium. DE George Martin scored the final TD of the game on a fumble recovery for #Giants100. 🏈

With Johnny U. sidelined, Tom Matte QB'd the #Colts in the 1965 Western Division Playoffs at Lambeau Field. Controversially, #GoPackGo won 13-10 in OT, thanks in large part to the referees mistakenly calling BALT. Lou Michaels' FG no good. GB went on to win the NFL Championship.

In a crucial Week 15 battle in 1980, Gary Danielson threw for 360 yards and Billy Sims leaped into the end zone as #OnePride defeated Tampa Bay 27-14 in the Silverdome. The Lions finished the season at 9-7 and narrowly lost the NFC Central crown to Minnesota via a tiebreaker.

The 1978 #DallasCowboys came into their Week 12 matchup with New Orleans on a two-game losing streak. Roger Staubach righted the ship for the defending World Champs, running and passing for 2 TDs in a 27-7 win. The 'Boys would not lose again until Super Bowl XIII vs. Pittsburgh.

The 1984 #Seahawks had their best regular season in franchise history, going 12-4 under Chuck Knox. In an early season Week 3 game in Foxboro, Seattle was defeated by the #NEPats 38-23, led by RB Tony Collins (102 yards rushing) and QB Tony Eason (2 TDs passing, 1 TD rushing). 🏈

The 1977 Vikings were on the verge of elimination in Week 12, down 24-7 to #FTTB when rookie QB Tommy Kramer entered the fray. Kramer fired 3 4th Q TDs incl. a bomb to Sammy White with under 2 minutes left, lifting #Skol to a 28-27 win. Minny would go on to win the NFC Central.

The 1972 Oilers went 1-13 under Bill Peterson. Their only win came in Week 3 vs. the Jets in the Astrodome. Dan Pastorini hit Kenny Burrough on a 52-yard TD pass and Skip Butler converted 4 FGs in a 27-20 win. Joe Namath threw for 301 yards and 2 TDs for #JetUp in the loss.

The 1984 Broncos went 13-3 with QB John Elway but faced a hot #Steelers team in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. QB Mark Malone & RB Frank Pollard (147 total yards, 2 TDs) led #HereWeGo to a 24-17 win at Mile High Stadium. PITT would lose the following week to Miami in the AFCC Game.
