My take - PlayStation 5 Pro at $700 (with no disc drive!) is a lot to ask of even hardcore fans. It really drives home what an expensive hobby gaming can be.

What I mean is, people will buy the PS5 Pro. A lot of people won't (until the price drops, esp in other countries). But none of that has to do with the cost being a "deal" for the given specs and more so to do with if you got the money/want a PS5 Pro.

A lot of what we buy should actually cost more but doesn't because our needs/wants vs what we should pay for them isn't balanced at all lol. Which is the way it should be. My point, yes people can be happy about the pro. And yes, people can be miffed at the price. It's all valid.

What I would say though, is that a console is a much harder sell at those prices than say a PC. There are several factors in play that make a $1500 PC seem more reasonable than a $700 concole. Anyways, yeah for video games!

$700 (in the US, more $$$ elsewhere) with no disc drive (sold separately) no vertical stand (sold separately) and no NEW first party games launching with it is totally insane. The most "good luck with that!" I've felt about a console announcement since the $599 PS3 price reveal.

Facts. But then, this also makes just keeping your current PS5 a solid option that most would consider. Even more hoping to get a cheaper one once the Pro hits the market.

Gene Park Honestly the only thing that would've sold me on a PS5 Pro is full backwards compatibility for PS1, PS2 and PS3. I would've paid an arm and a leg for that...

I'm so amped to jump on the PS5 (again, s/o to the homie for hooking me up 💜💜). Got work to finish though. I also need to proctor a quiz, set up for my stream, etc. That said, I can't wait to play Astro Bot later tonight/tomorrow!
