Software design principle: difference should signal meaning. If the parameters to many functions go "x, y, z", then if I have a function with "z, x, y", there better be something special about that function. If there isn't, shuffle the parameters to match the canonical order.

I used to think this way frequently--how can we meet human needs? I gradually slipped into, "What's good for the product?" Which, yes, does speak to human needs indirectly. But we can do better than that.

This is what a launch should be--lots of iteration to a great product then promote the hell out of it.
