You should listen to this discussion from The Center for Baptist Renewal with Jesse Owens on Thomas Monck. Jesse is one of the sharpest contemporary Baptist historians. I agree with him that those in the GB and PB have much we share in Baptist identity. youtu.be/LquvPBWaTeQ

If you stand in the PB/1689 tradition, you would do well to read men who were GB. Helwys powerfully lays out Baptist political theology. Grantham and Monck are two Baptists supportive of catholicity. Dan Taylor leads renewal among the GB in the late 18th century.

It might sound like sentimentalism but it is important to remember the cost of being able to worship freely. I think about Benjamin Keach in the pillory because he taught biblical baptism. Let us not take these things for granted especially as Baptists.

Really encouraged this morning that we had a total of 9 for The Kiffen Room including 4 who have never participated before! It was a blessing to discuss the life of Adoniram Judson as we prepare to read his work on baptism.
