Think cell surface receptors need ligands? Check out our findings in Cell on GPR3, an adrenergic-independent #brownfat activator with built-in signalling ability. By rockstar PhD student Olivia Sveidahl Johansen NNF Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) and amazing collaborators!👇cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
Very happy and honored that Leids Universiteits Fonds will fund our new project! With @svankasteren we aim to visualize the initial development of atherosclerosis using click-chemistry.
Super excited to see the results of a very first pilot (n=1) with glycerol tri[13C]oleate incorporated in VLDL-like particles (developed by Patrick Rensen). Will allow us to not only monitor lipid uptake by tissues with [14C], but also to track oxidation. Thanks Marshall McCue!
Just accepted by JCEM: Cold-induced thermogenesis in humans shows a diurnal variation. Proud of Maaike! LUMC Leiden #brownfat academic.oup.com/jcem/advance-a…
Ejection of damaged mitochondria and their removal by macrophages ensu... sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Finally out!Proud to share our article published on Cell Metabolism Thank u to all coauthors! 🔥🔥🔥Read how adipocytes and mitochondria communicate in BAT to maintain thermogenesis
Our contribution to the body weight regulation SI of Molecular Metabolism edited by Christoffer Clemmensen and John Speakman is online!
