The best part of being a published author are the messages that come via my website from lovely people who read Adrift & want to tell me a story about how much they enjoyed it/were inspired by it.♥️♥️ We should all do more of this. I'm booking time to do it for books I've loved!

When I wrote my article about the super selective campaign against Josh Shapiro over Israel, I focused on Mark Kelly's Israel positions because he was co-leading prediction markets at the time, and didn't discuss Walz's much. There's plenty. x.com/yair_rosenberg…

If we don’t agree on these rules right now, it’s going to be a very long eight years: Let’s do an S after the apostrophe after Harris, and an S after the apostrophe after Walz. “Harris’s pick vindicates Walz’s message.” I will not be taking further questions at this time.

There are two crowds using Jews as political footballs here: the far-left that singled out Shapiro (despite Israel policies largely aligned with Walz & others) AND the swarm of right-wingers now claiming Harris/Dems are antisemitic. Neither is credible.

Pretty sure I heard the bang (bangs, actually--I think there were two, then a really big one). I certainly heard, and continue to hear, a ton of sirens, from more than 20 blocks away. A helicopter now, too.

This bit of text has long been central to my own activism as a wholly not-religious Jew. It is a wise tenet: The challenges we face are massive; we cannot begin to think we alone will solve them; even still, we must do what we can toward progress.

When I hear lots of sirens on a dry summer day, I look to the forest to the west. That was my first look the evening of this fire, when the sirens didn't stop and I heard the bangs in my living room. A bullet dodged, for sure. But hey, let's keep bowing to oil & gas.

Huge. This functionally guarantees that the (formerly fringe, still full of some "yikes" ideas) BC Conservatives will at least be the official opposition, and with BC United backing could hypothetically make a run at the NDP.

The BC Conservatives are holding a press conference at 2:40pm “to deliver a major statement related to the upcoming general election campaign.” John Rustad is included on the press release, Kevin Falcon is not. #bcpoli

Major traffic calming on 16th Ave & Wallace St. #Vancouver, by Lord Byng Secondary. A student was severely injured at this intersection last winter. Cars can no longer cross 16th at Wallace; it's entirely blocked off. Crosswalk is painted and signed. Excellent improvement.

The prospect of a future premier of BC translating this nonsense into policy is truly chilling. I don't care how compelling it is to finally have a viable BC Conservative Party – this isn't conservatism; it's willful disregard of basic science, and it'll do great harm.
