The track from Francine is still showing an eastward trend towards the Patterson/Morgan City areas

Positive news on the latest update for Francine Tropical Storm Francine is not expected to reach category 2 as it makes its way towards the Louisiana coast. Another positive is the storm has sped up a bit which means the quicker it’ll get out the state

WEDNESDAY MORNING UPDATE: Hurricane Francine is expected to strengthen to a Category 2 before making landfall near Morgan City. As of 9:30, Entergy is reporting over 400 power outages in south Terrebonne Parish. ALL of Terrebonne Parish is under curfew. That began at 8 a.m.

With the storm’s path, SE La including the coastal and bayou parishes will experience hurricane force winds, potential storm surge and power outages. It doesn’t help that much of the area has experienced a lot of rain the last week or so making those bayous already high

Hurricane Francine has battled several different factors that kept the storm from strengthening like other storms we’ve seen in previous years. Francine will hover around strong Category 1, potentially weak Category 2 before landfall 📸 WAFB

Certainly a positive with this storm is it won’t last in Louisiana long Hurricane Francine is is moving NE at 15+ mph so it will get out the state in a hurry late tonight and by early tomorrow, the storm will be in Mississippi

Last 25 minutes or so, Hurricane #Francine showed she has a bit more fight in her. Strong winds, hurricane strength, whipping around through Terrebonne Parish currently

#Francine officially makes landfall in Terrebonne Parish as of 5 PM. Max winds estimated at 100 mph, making it a Category 2 hurricane.

Hurricane #Francine certainly has not let up. Almost two hours after we started getting hurricane force winds and blinding rain, the storm has not let up in the Houma/Thibodaux area Even as the eye of the storm makes its way inland, still feeling the full impact of Francine

Incase you need a reminder why we always say “turn around, don’t drown” when you see flood waters‼️ Glad both men are okay but incredible to see the heroics of the nurse that stepped in to get the guy out the truck with seconds to spare

This certainly explains why it felt like the eye wall sat over Houma/Thibodaux. The storm turned right into it
