The Bureau Local is reporting from around the country on appalling delays in delivering adaptations for Disabled people’s homes thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2022-0…. One woman waited five years for a Disabled Facilities Grant, meanwhile showering in the garden with a hose.
These stories are not rare. Dozens more are coming out in response to The Bureau Local’s story. A 2018 independent review of the DFG recommended fundamental change. When is this coming? @luhc Michael Gove Department of Health and Social Care Sajid Javid When will you fix our #DisablingHomes?

SOAS University of London Economic and Social Research Council postdoctoral fellow Dr Julia Modern is working on a collaborative project with Dr Kikuko Sakai at Kanazawa Seiryo University in Japan. Their project, funded by JSPS, looks at how disabled people and their families arrange care in two regions of Uganda.
