Each and every one of us with a platform has a responsibility to correct others on the truth about asylum seekers claiming benefits and free homes. They can’t. They receive just £49 a week or £9 if given food. Only if and when they get refugee status can they claim or get a job.

I'm curious to hear from those commentators who keep saying "we're only 9 weeks in" and "wait until the budget." Why are they at 2pm voting to cut off winter fuel payments for pensioners? There's so many other ways they could get this relatively small amount of money.

Labour are highly likely to introduce means-tested for Winter Fuel Payments later today, but this is an eye opening fact that I’ve not seen widely discussed. If the government’s estimates are wrong, this policy could well end up costing the government rather than saving! 👀
