some pix from my gotcha day party yesterday. had lots of fun but i am really tired this morning! so are mum and dad.

dad wrote this poem about us in something called 'doggerel'.

This mummy bird is sitting on her eggs so i have to be very careful and quiet when i go into our back door and not scare her.

Dad has left this book on the couch about something called ‘Victorian history paintings’ and i don’t know if he wants me to try to read it (which would be difficult as i am a dog) or eat it.

Really relieved to hear this.

Heading out with mum and dad on Saturday errands. Library! (Why do some humans call this day ‘Caturday’?)

My morning routine now includes nagging dad to give me the leftover milk for his coffee. Today i had to be a little more assertive. i think my side-eye is getting rather good don’t you?

After dad ignored my whimpers and barks to get my daily lick-out of his milk pitcher i took advantage of his lack of attention with wonderful results, the whole pitcher. a girl’s gotta do what she’s gotta do.

3 pm is whimzie time, or as I call it, stick o’clock. Now today do I feel like a red, brown, or green stick? They are all so tasty.

On my regular Saturday afternoon yard patrol, keeping the humans safe from squirrels, birds, and neighbourhood cats.

Lazing around on my sofa after a very hot walk with dad. these human days of summer can be very tiring. TGIF.

This must be an example of a ‘dad’ joke.

I got a little impatient waiting for dad to finish his morning newspapers today but it did give me an opportunity to sink my teeth into last week's New Yorker. I'm a bit of a culture hound.

Mum is away for a few days but it seems wrong to take over her side if the bed. So I’ll just settle in on dad’s side. I’m sure he won’t mind.

this Mister Walz seems very nice and i wonder if i pawed to Scout he would paw back to a fellow rescue dog. i would vote for Mister Walz in november except for the fact that i am canadian not american. and also a dog.
