Luke seems muddled. Species in a place are intimately entwined with the others they evolved alongside, so there is a sound ecological rationale for protecting native species, and explains why non native species are sometimes so harmful. Humans are all the same species (obviously)

What I hate most of all is the powerlessness. We can scream into the void for as long as we like, but there seems little prospect of it happening. Meanwhile we helplessly watch the twisted pantomime play on.

Let's bring back Britain's lost rainforests!

Our new maps show that 20% of Britain has a climate suitable for temperate rainforest, but that rainforest now covers just 1% of the country.
