Today, I participated in the opening session of the Arab Financial Institutions meeting in Cairo, Egypt. The agenda included responding to regional geopolitical crises, spurring economic growth, and financial cooperation.

I delivered a keynote intervention on geopolitical crises & debt at the Arab Finance Ministers meeting in Cairo. The Red Sea crisis is posing a challenge to all regional economies, including 🇸🇴. We remain focused on diversifying our revenue sources to reduce customs dependency.

Proud moment for #Somalia! With 179 votes, we have been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2025-2026. We are committed to upholding international law and amplifying all voices within the Council.

This is a fantastic day as #Somalia secures a historic Non-Permenant United Nations Security Council Seat for 2025-2026 after last achieving this in 1971-1972. #Somalia is once again returning to the community of nations as a proud member determined to advance the global agenda for peace.
